Obamacatholics

Fifty-five percent of Catholics voted for Barack Hussein Obama during the Presidential elections of November 4, 2008, even though this is a man who advocates anti-Catholic values. Some of my best friends whom I have loved, love, and will always love, are among this group. What follows are reasons why Obama is a threat to the Church.
First, Obama is a man who has contempt for Christians who cling to their religion, as revealed by his comments in San Francisco during the primaries in 2008. On the other hand, Jesus said “come to Me, all you that labour and are burdened, and I will refresh you” (Matthew 11:28). Christ wants us to cling to Him and to learn of Him because He is meek and humble of heart and He shall give rest to our souls, as His yoke is sweet and His burden light (Matthew 11:29-30). Therefore, our joy depends on clinging to Him and surrendering to His will, for He said, “without me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
Second, Obama is a believer in moral relativity, that is, in the absence of absolute moral values, even though he absolutely seeks greater political power to impose his will. For him there are no lies, but only a never- ending dialectic full of tactical retreats. On the other hand, Jesus said “Heaven and earth shall pass, but My words shall not pass” (Matthew 24:35). For Catholics, Jesus Christ is true “yesterday, and to day, and the same forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Catholics believe the teachings of Christ are morally absolute.
Third, Obama is supporter of policies such as the Freedom of Choice Act, and the United Nations Convention on the Child which can undermine parental authority and drive a wedge between children and their parents. The reduction of parental authority is a standard procedure under socialism which seeks to minimize the role of the family to increase the control of the state. On the other hand, Christ demonstrated the value of children and the family by becoming a child Himself and by being obedient to Mary and Joseph. It is stated that “He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was subject to them” (Luke 2:51).
Fourth, Obama, is an ideological neo-Marxist who believes in constant confrontation between groups: creditors vs. debtors, business vs. left-wing environmentalists, corporations vs. unions, whites vs. blacks, government vs. free enterprise, and so on. He learned about the political fruits of confrontation from friend Frank Marshall Davis (Uncle Frank, his mentor in Hawaii), who was a Stalinist Communist, from Saul Alinsky, the communist author of Rules for Radicals (he dedicated the book to Lucifer), and from Jeremiah Wright, the pastor of a racist, and Marxist-based theology of black liberation church in Chicago, among others. This is the old strategy of divide and conquer.
On the other hand, the Catholic faith teaches that “there is neither Jew nor Gentile: there is neither bond nor free: there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). The Catholic Church does not advocate constant, mutually- exclusive confrontations between social groups.
Fifth, Obama is an advocate of a more intensive New Deal, whose major inspiration in the 1930’s was Benito Mussolini, the father of Fascist Socialism. For this reason, Obama seeks to establish state control over major parts of American society, including banks, industrial corporations, health care, education, energy, etc. Any one who is tempted to receive tax payer resources will be controlled by the state. His lust for centralizing power will reduce the checks and balances needed to keep America free.
On the other hand, the Catholic Church teaches through its major encyclicals (Rerum Novarum, Quadragesimo Anno, and Centesimus Annus) that Fascist Socialism is incompatible with Catholic principles and freedom, and in particular with its belief in subsidiarity, of making decisions as close to the people affected as is possible.
Sixth, Obama is an advocate of the killing of a late-term unborn baby and also, puncturing and sucking out the brain of a baby who is being born and whose extremities are already outside the mother’s womb. In addition, he recommends that a baby who survives an abortion and is born alive be allowed to die. This last practice is full infanticide. On the other hand, the Catholic Church teaches that human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception to natural death. The Bible says “before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you” (Jeremiah 1:5, Job 10:8-12, Psalms 22:10-11). Human life is of divine origin. The Teaching of the Apostles stated that “you shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish” (Didache 2:2).
Seventh, Obama is in favor of the elimination of the rights of conscience for health workers, who do not want to be fascistically forced to perform abortions, engage in embryonic stem cell research, or to participate in other such activities of the culture of death. On the other hand, the Catholic Church follows Christ’s principle that we must “render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21, Luke 20:25). The conscience does not belong to Caesar Obama.
Eighth, Obama is in favor of making unions dominant and confrontational, and in helping them eliminate the secret ballot in union elections, as well as the right of workers not to be forcibly unionized. Fascism began with the unions. On the other hand, the Catholic Church supports unions and other social organizations as long as they are free and not coercive instruments of the state.
Ninth, Obama is a promoter of the nationalization of the health industry using as an excuse the fact that three percent of the American people do not have, for whatever reason, medical insurance. Eventually, the government will run out of money and then will begin to ration medical services. The old and the terminally-ill will be sacrificed first for monetary reasons, just as unborn babies are disposed of for economic motivations. On the other hand, the Catholic Church teaches that the state should become involved in medical matters only to empower, instead of abandoning, the ones with the greatest needs.
If Barack Hussein Obama is a latent Fascist Socialist whose world view is incompatible with Catholic principles, why did fifty five percent of Catholics vote for him? The following reasons might explain this situation:
· Many Catholics traditionally vote for the Democrats
· President George W. Bush was a very unpopular President who mismanaged the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, created huge deficits and economic distortions, applied socialist bailout principles for banks and the Federal Reserve, and wrecked the Republican label.
· Senator John McCain was portrayed by the media as following the policies of President Bush.
· The biased, pro-democratic party elite media, such as the New York Times, and others, covered up much of the controversial policies of Obama so many Catholics were not able to know the real candidate. Also, the media convinced most Americans that the economic meltdown of 2008 was caused by the free market, when in fact it was caused by the Federal Reserve, government programs and policies and greedy Wall Street, among others. Wall Street, by the way, voted for Obama.
· Many Catholic cardinals, archbishops, bishops, priests, and laity have gone over to the culture of death and have spent the last two generations trying to redefine the traditional teachings of the Church to create a more secular Catholicism.
· Many Catholic teachers are no longer faithful to the Magisterium and do not have it in their heart the desire to teach Orthodox beliefs.
· As a result, most Catholics do not know or understand the teachings of their own faith.
· The majority of Catholics who practice their faith (there are no other) did not vote for Barack Hussein Obama.
What Catholics need to decide is whom they are going to worship. Are they going to “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness?” (Matthew 6:33), or are they going to replace Him with self-fulfillment grounded on race, ethnicity, sexuality, immigration aspirations, partisan politics, economic gain, ideological considerations, class envy, political greed, and other temptations of the world?
