Home made Wipe Solution

I love saving money. It can be hard because my fluttery personality can sometimes look for the convenient and not what's best. So I was glad when I found a basic wipe recipe and tweaked it a bit for my baby's needs. So if you are a cloth diapering mama or simply a mama that likes to save this is a simple & easy way to make your own Bum spray :)
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup of Baby Oil
1 tea bag brewed in 1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of Baby Wash
3 Cups of water
Mix each ingredient in a mason jar
 Place brewed tea in

 Add 3 cups of water

And Voila "Bummie" spray!

It works great on "Bummie" even with her sensitive little skin!!

We have been cloth diapering our two sons. We intend on cloth diapering this new baby as well. What are you using for cloth wipes? And what exactly do you do when the wipe is full of poop? Do you have to rinse it off in the toilet? We have been buying bulk target wipes and would love to stop.

I never would have thought of tea! Have you considered adding an essential oil for antimicrobial properties?

This looks super-easy! I hadn't planned to do cloth wipes, but then someone pointed out that if you're tossing the diaper in the dry pail anyway, it's easy to just throw the wipe in, too. Hello, duh. This looks great. Thanks!

I was just thinking about making my own wipe solution and thought about what/what not to include in it. This one looks perfect, especially with a bit of Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild soap and perhaps some aloe.

Looks easy. I hope I can find the baby wash you used.

I've been making wipe solution for a couple of months now, but have yet to try the chamomile idea. Gonna have to try this with the next batch!

I love the idea of adding Chamomile tea to your wipe solution! I usually just use water, baby wash, and a tiny bit of tea tree oil but I will have to add the tea next time! Thanks for the tip!

I don't know when there are recipes like this that aren't complicated why I don't just bite the bullet and try cloth wipes. We've been using cloth diapers since our little guy was a few weeks old, but cloth wipes just seem "hard" and "complicated" to me. I know this is a stupid question, but where can I get a spray bottle like that? It's one of the little things that's stopped me from even trying, as silly as that sounds. Everything else is easy, but I'm stumped when it comes to a spray bottle. :)

I cloth diaper but use disposable wipes. I recently learned that some of the same ingredients found in disposable diapers are also found in some brands of wipes. Thank you for sharing!

I make my own wipes too! We cut a roll of select-a-size paper towels in half and pour the solution over it, then let it soak 5 minutes, remove the paper towel roll and pull the wipes up from the middle. Voila! I use 1 3/4 c. hot water, 1 T baby wash, 2 T baby oil, 8 drops tea tree oil (helps prevent mold), and 4 drops lavender oil (just smells good!). I might try adding tea!

I love the look of this--so simple!

I've never seen brewed tea added to a wipes solution. What is the purpose of adding it? Not trying to sound rude, just genuinely curious.

I'd like to make my own wipe solution but does the baby oil cause repelling on cloth diapers ? I've always wondered about that

This makes it seem possible to use cloth wipes. I am sold on cloth diapering but wasn't sure about wipes. It is worth a try anyways...

Such a neat recipe! I've never seen one like it. Must try! Do you think a different type of oil (grape seed maybe) would work? My little guy breaks out in rash with baby oil.

I like the idea of using chamomile tea, and I bet other herbal teas would work well, too.

Wow I would have never guess some of the ingredients in this! I am 4 months pregnant with baby #2 and beginning my cloth diapering journey. I will have to try this out!

Your picture shows chamomile tea, but have you used other types of tea as well?

I make my own wipe solution as well, but I've never seen one with tea! I'll have to try that next.

I'll be cloth diapering my first (due in less than three weeks!), and so far we have a small stash of natural (read: expensive) wipes. I'm looking forward to trying this more affordable option!

This looks great! How long does the solution keep? We use distilled water, castille soap, witch hazel, and grape seed extract and it keeps indefinitely.

I like this because it involves ingredients that you would already buy. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I'm actually thinking of just using water for awhile and then "graduating" to this solution when I think just water isn't cutting it. Thanks!

Wow! That's pretty neat. I'll have to try it, too!
