One of the most commonly overlooked car accessories is the backup sensor. Backup sensors take care of a driver's inability to judge distance while backing their car up. Judging distance in a vehicle is difficult enough, and this goes double when trying to drive backward.
Backup sensors detect distance to obstacles and provide feedback to indicate this distance to the driver, helping to prevent minor collisions and warn them before they make a mistake. If you've ever seen a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling of a garage, you've seen the original iteration of the backup sensor, a simple physical marker to indicate distance. Backup sensors do the same thing, but function in any environment, whether or not it's your garage to hang a tennis ball up in. Whether you're pulling into a space in a parking structure or simply trying to parallel park, a backup sensor is a high-tech, accessible way to keep your car safer.
AmericanSecurityCo.com has backup sensors for cars and trucks, as do other suppliers. Seeking out a backup sensor online is a great way to keep your car in good shape, empowering you to prevent everything from minor damage getting out of your garage for work in the morning to a more major insurance-altering incident with someone else's vehicle while you parallel park. They can also make for an excellent practical gift for a new or aging driver.

I never though much about these until I got my Jeep. It has a sensor and camera for backing up. Very useful and helpful even though its not the be all end all. Remember to still look.
They should make this standard on all vehicles. I can't see any reason why they shouldn't be.
Backup sensors are such a wonderful idea! I love mine.
I would love this on my car
This sensors are so necessary - they help avoid those tragic accidents we hear about. I am going to get one for my Mom's birthday - thank you for the reminder.
