I've tried a lot of different diapers but one thing that always drives me nuts is figuring out how to keep 4.0 nice and dry through the night. I've been using pockets and a couple of good inserts to help him stay dry but I recently found an alternative many had told me about but I hadn't been brave enough to try...wool!!
One thing that had made me shy away from wool was the price. Thankfully I found someone who had gone through a similar predicament and decided to do something about making wool affordable to all. Thanks' to Alaina Upcycled Wool was born!
A little bit from the Super Mama Creative Talent Alaina:
I was sick of changing wet sheets up to 2 times
a night! When I looked for a wool diaper I couldn't find an affordable
one for a stay at home mom budget, especially if I needed 2-3 pieces
and the baby would just keep growing! So coincidentally, (although my husband
swears it was on purpose) I shrunken one of his wool sweaters and the
crafter in me knew it would be a great cover and a great business!. And now I'm hoping to be budget friendly and have cute
woolies!
And cute woolies she has!! Not only does she create the most adorable wool covers, but you can find shorties and longies too! How amazing! To take something you won't be using and creating something so amazing and functional like a wool cover.
I was a little nervous having 4.0 sleep in a wool cover. I had him go for a few hours every day before taking the big leap and once I did I couldn't believe it! He was absolutely dry in the morning and well that makes me a happy and (dry) mama as well! So the verdict? I love wool and absolutely love Upcycled love!
The Cover I received was just plain cute! It almost reminded me of an American Flag. I was amazed at how perfectly it was put together from a sweater! I l.ove how Alaina worked with me to find out the perfect fit for my little guy to help garner the most accurate fit.
My cover came lanolized and ready to use upon arrival, and used it's been!
The back is just as adorable as the front!
I love how perfectly everything just blends together on this cover!
Sewn in soaker layer for added protection.
This cover fit my Chunky 23ish pound 8month old. I was worried about the fit considering he has a fitted under but it slid right on perfectly!
The back had a nice fit, not snug but perfectly placed.
Even while crawling and laying on his belly the little guy had no issues with movement or the "bulk"
As you can see his little delicious rolls were held in nicely with her pattern.
I am convinced and am definitely a fan! Not only is this product a wonderful, quality product, but affordable for those of us that want the wool but are worried about the $$.
Thank you to Alaina for sending me this wonderful cover! If you would like one of your own, head over to her page and check out all the great products she has to offer and order one for your little one!

RIght now I don't have one since my baby is not here yet. But I know that something fitted with a wool cover sounds the best to us
This would be so helpful! Our little girl manages to soak through every night. Even doubled up in her BumGenius!
GMD workhorse diaper with a wool cover! Bulletproof!
Right now my favorite night time option is a thirsties cover with 2 hemp inserts and a bumgenius doubler.
Right now it is a tie between BG Elemental and Swaddlebee Simplex for nighttime favorite. <3
Still looking, but a flat with pul cover works best for us now.
Blueberry fitted and a wool cover!
Kawaii with 2 inserts
We love using kiwi pie fitteds over night, with a grovia cover.
We use Alva 4.0 with a MF & Bamboo & she is STILL leaking. Mind you she's only 6 months so I'm in trouble if I don't get my hands on some wool fast!!
My favorite is a fitted with wool. Orange co makes my fav!
I haven't started yet, since my baby isn't here yet, but I have heard very good things about using fitteds or prefolds with wool covers and I would love to do that!
Right now we use Huggies overnights but more times than not he wets through them. This would be a great thing to try! Even if I don't win, I might buy one anyway.
Haven't really found a great one for my 7month old, have tried fitted and pockets with double inserts, but he leaks. My 2 year does great in a pocket with a microfiber insert and a prefold stuffer. Would love to try the wool on my baby!
I haven't found a favorite overnight diaper yet. Only one I tried leaked all over her crib that night :-(
right now we use charlie banana with 2 inserts. still searching for the perfect match!
fitteds paired with wool :)
No favorite night time diaper yet. Baby isn't here; soon he will be!
Sbish
No favorite, everything leaks through even if I double up. I have never tried wool and i am intrigued to see how it works!
I use my regular AIO with a doubled up liner.
Right now it is a Thirsties AIO.
I don't have a favorite yet but I want to try wool!
I use wool every single night, with either an Osocozy stay dry prefold or a fitted (Kissaluv or Totsbots). I will never use anything but wool for nighttime anymore! :)
My fav night time diaper is a WAHM and its Max and Meena :D
My favorite nighttime combo is an Sbish OBF with a Woollybottoms hybrid soaker. I love fitteds and wool for nighttime.
We use an osocozy prefold, babykicks hemp insert, and a cover (either flip or thirsties duo).
I either use a Kawaii GNHW or a Thirsties Duo diaper for night time!
I don't have a favorite :( Everything I've tried leaks! Wanting to try a wool cover SO BAD, though!
My little one hasn't arrived yet but I'm totally ready to jump on the cd train! Those woolly little bottoms are just too cute!
I was worried about using a plastic cover in the Texas heat and wool seems like the perfect solution :-)
We use fuzzibunz diapers, and at night time I just add one more insert, and my chunky 6 month old sweetie always is dry!
Hybrid fitted with a Flip cover is my favorite cloth night time diaper for my 22 month old DD
Dont know yet. Still learning about cloth diapering.
No favorite yet but I have heard a lot of good thing about wool covers :)
Baby isn't here yet so I don't have a favorite.
A homemade fitted under a blueberry or best bottom cover!
Giggle life bamboo
Hybrid fitted!
I don't have a favorite yet. Still building my stash for my baby due this fall. Planning to use AI2s & prefolds.
pampers overnights
I honestly don't have a favorite night time diaper. I still feel totally out of my realm with diapering.
I use bumGenius at night for my son
We Love Best Bottom Diapers! The best part is that they have a Full Circle System which comes in handy!!
applecheeks stuffed with microfibre and a bamboo insert
I love my fitteds with a cover.
Still testing night diaper options... my LO is a heavy wetter.
Sbish
I now use a pocket alva with two inserts but I would love to try wool!
We don't have a favorite....but bumgenius is working well.
I use a sbish flat with a reg. prefold in a bummis cover lol. HUGE fluff butt, but it works.
my favorite has to be flip overnight prefolds.
we have a bamboo insert with a wool cover; great.
currently we use the Kawaii with a hemp and bamboo insert because although I have wanted to try wool like you the cost has been formidable!
I like using a nice fitted under a flip cover.
We have been using Kawaii Good Night but have recently seen the need to something more. Looking into buying a a few fitted diapers and some wool covers.
swaddlebee cow
I use BG pockets at night with the two microfiber inserts they come with as well as a Thirsties hemp insert. We've been using that combo for 8 months now with no leaks. And baby sleeps 11 hours straight at night!
I have a few Kawaii Heavy Duty pockets that I stuff with 1 bamboo and 1 hemp insert. They work ok for now, but she is starting to become a heavier wetter, so I may have to switch to fitteds with covers. Would love to try wool.
We use a BG 4.0 stuffed with 2 bamboo inserts and one hemp insert covered with Babee Greens wool shorties.
We don't have any kids yet. So, I don't have a favorite night time diaper yet. I am thinking it will probably involve a wool cover.
I am waiting on my first (1 day overdue) so it remains to be seen :)
We had been using disposables, but I just ordered 2 kawaii heavy wetters to try. My little guy pees a lot at night. Would love to try wool!
Definitely my Snug Bug Lightening Bug! No wool required fitteds. <3
BG freetime
I don't really have a favorite nighttime diaper; I just make sure that there is a charcoal bamboo insert and another bamboo insert and it gets him trough the night!
Wool has always scared me! I finally ordered a cute cover & am having a soaker & a pair of shorties made :) I'm hoping I love them, and if I do, my next purchase will be from Upcycled Love! I love looking at her creations in her Facebook page!
With our oldest, BG 4.0's stuffed with a regular insert and a couple newborn inserts worked until she was about 3 yrs old. We switched to disposables for a couple months until she was fully night potty trained. Our son is 19 months and the BG's still get him through the night. We'll try hemp and wool with him though when our BG stash isn't enough anymore.
We don't have a baby yet but plan to cloth diaper. I think we will do prefolds with a cover for newborn. I want to reuse the covers and use the prefolds as inserts during the day as the baby grows. I haven't figured out what we might use for nighttime, from what I've read every baby and situation is different so I guess I'll just have to wait and see and work it out as we go.
I love fitteds with wool at night! That's all that has worked since my little was about 3 months old.
were still trying to find the right solution!
I use a Tots Bots Bamboozle fitted with a Blueberry cover at night.
We use Best Bottoms with a hemp overnight and stay dry insert. Works like a charm.
My baby is being born today via csection. . I haven't cloth diapered yet.. but my plan is a prefold and wool at night ;-)
I currently use a Bagshot Row Bamoo or B4 fitted with a woolybottoms cover. I've been using them for almost a year and a half and it works great for us!!
Fitteds and covers work for us. I am excited to try my new wool soaker I won from Upcycled Love... It looks super cute!
I have two tiny tush fitteds that I use with covers, I actually just won a wool cover from Upcycled Love in an auction. It just arrived and I'm excited to try it!
I used BumGenius 3.0's with my first CD'ed baby but he wasn't a very heavy wetter....we'll see about this next one.
I haven't had my first yet so I've yet to test any of them! :)
I love our minky Kawaiis
