Dr.Browns Natural Flow Glass Baby Bottle Review

*Although I received this bottle free of charge, All opinions are 100% mine.

I breastfeed 4.0 but there are times I can't take him with me where I'm going  and so I need to leave bottles for him to eat with. Finding bottles that meet my high standards isn't easy. Between quality, flow and size that task can be hard considering the over saturation of bottles on the market.

I recently had the opportunity to try out Dr.Brown's Natural Flow Glass Bottles and my decision became easier.

I had been hearing about Dr.Browns for as long as I've had kids but had never tried them. I always opted for a simple glass bottle and nipple to be determined. After trying these bottles out for a few weeks I realized that these bottles are unlike any out there on the market. With it's patented internal vent system these bottles leap ahead all conpetitors.
Why the internal vent system?
By locking air at the bottom, it helps reduce air bubbles,  helping to prevent spit-ups, burping, colic and gas. Formula/milk flows freely into baby's mouth without any nipple collapse. It literally gives baby a similar feeling as that of breastfeeding, making an easing the transition to bottles. Which is always a huge issue for me when trying to get one of my breastfed babies to take a bottle.

The Vent system looks scarier than it is cleaning wise. It's a two part system that slides out easily and separates even easier.
Cleaning the vent system out is no problem with the included brush that allows for quick and easy cleaning.
One thing that always worries me about using a glass bottles is well...it's glass and with children who like to practice their Olympic discuss throwing with their baby bottles, Dr.Browns thought two steps ahead.
One of their available accessories is the 100% silicone sleeve bottle cozy that comes in both sizes and colors.

This bottle sleeve helps make the Dr.Brown's Bottle and unstable force between strength and functionality! The perfect combination ready to help keep your little one gas free, happy and most important safe with no broken bottles!

A huge plus I wanted to add was that the bottle is compatible with my breast pump, meaning I can pump directly into the bottle and store!

4.0 is naturally cautious of bottles. He prefers mama. However, he really liked this bottle. Loved playing with it and exploring the texture of the sleeve.
He even threw it a few times to test out it's strength.
Finally when all the fun had been had, he settled down and drank some milk and enjoying a lazy afternoon out.
4.0 hasbeen using this bottle for a few weeks now, whenever I'm not around. It makes life easier on Grandma when she takes care of him  and well he's happy because he gets a nice full tummy. She's happy because he's not gassy after the transition between breast and bottle. I'm happy because I know he's using a quality bottle that is bpa free , made with an exceptional vent system allowing for the proper flow of nutrients, and locking all the air at the bottom. But most of all I'm using a quality brand that I know I can trust, Dr. Browns.

You can find Dr.Brown's Bottles at any retailer where you purchase baby products. You can also go online to their page and find out about all the great products they offer from pacifier and teethers to  cups for when your little one transitions away from the bottle.
To find out more or to stay in the know about their latest products I recommend joining the Dr.Brown's Facebook page. There you will  find all the latest info, products and so much more!

I highly recommend this product. I know you will become a fan once you try it on your little one the way I did.

I used these with my boys when they first came out! They did not have the glass ones then that I remember. My first son got a touch of colic for about a week, and oh my... Well lets just say I was prepared to do anything with baby two to not go through that again, I loved these bottles, there are a lot of pieces to clean, but they worked! I loved them.

I've heard good things about Dr. Brown, and I like that these help out the mom so she doesn't always have to be there ready to feed. This also lets the dad and others get involved in the feeding and bonding. I like how this traps air to help so you don't have a burpy, gassy baby.

Thanks for this review--I'm glad to know there's a bottle that EBF babies accept well. I have a couple of questions about it though. What pump do you use that hooks up directly to these bottles? I have a Medela, so I'm hoping you do too, because I'd like to try these out. Also, do you know why it says it helps preserve vitamins/nutrients? Is it something about glass vs. plastic?

What a great bottle! I plan to breastfeed exclusively with my first baby on his/her way. Reading this review has given me confidence that transitioning (when need be) may be easier.

First of all, your baby is adorable! Secondly, I have always been curious about glass bottles as well. If we have another, I will definitely look into these.

I need more bottles to add to my pain glass ones. I will definitely be looking into these! How wonderful that they include a tool to clean it!

On the occasions that I needed a bottle for my babies I've always used Dr. Brown's. This go around I decided to use the glass version. I dropped one hard at a restaurant the other day and to my surprise it didn't break! Quality and durability….I love it!

I've never tried these but I'm considering them. My baby used to take Tommee Tippee but a) he's decided he's over that and b) they won't attach directly to my pump, which is a pain. I'm just hesitant about all the parts to clean!

I love Dr. Brown's Bottles, we use them too and I love the glass one :)

I've been wondering about these. I rarely go anywhere without my baby so I haven't really needed a bottle yet in 10 months but I do look around just in case. Seriously, she's old enough to skip the bottles altogether by now I guess.lol

I LOVE the Dr Browns bottles!!! They are the only thing I could use with my daughter when she was a baby. They really helped a lot with her stomach issues. Oh man, they were the best bottle we ever used.

These look seriously nifty. It's that I've heard great things about, but just didn't understand at the time. (How, with the straw, are they able to lie back and eat?)

This looks like a great product. Wish this would have been available to my kids way back when. I breastfed too but there are always times that the bottle is necessary.

I use a bottle brush as hot as you can handle water and the little brush for the tubing...do that and you're good to go.:)

We used Dr. Brown's glass bottles when my daughter was tiny and LOVED them! The best part was that they heated up faster under the hot water because heat transfers easier via glass than plastic. Great post!

This is the first time I have heard of Dr. Brown's, but i like what I am reading! Passing this on to my sister. Thanks!

Great to know. I haven't heard from anyone else who hand washed them. Thanks!

I like the idea of a glass bottle. For my daughter, we used Tommee Tippee. She rarely used a bottle so we had only one.

I've never tried these bottles, but I have a friend who was unable to breastfeed, and she LOVES these bottles! She says they've really helped with colic.

ConservamomE said...

They are also so much easier to clean and sanitize!

I wish I had thought more about using glass bottles when Midge was under a year. They're safer than plastic.

Thank you!!

Haha, it took a learning curve for my little guy but with 3 older siblings running around all the time, I had to teach him to take it. He likes this one a lot especially the silicone grip!

ConservamomE said...

It really was only two parts and that little brush worked perfectly! I was worried about these for the same reason. Even hand washing was no issue with these. Give it a try, I'm sure you'll like them! :)

ConservamomE said...

Aww thanks! he likes to ham it up to the camera :) I am very impressed with these bottles and the sleeve is so neat!

We only used Dr. Brown bottles with all 3 of our children. I never tried a glass one though. I love the look of it, with the bottle sleeve. That is really cool. Also, you're little man is adorable drinking out of the bottle.

I love the bottle sleeve for the bottles. I know you have the little brush to clean with but I've heard they are difficult to clean and I don't have a dishwasher. I want to give it a try to see for myself, but I'm hesitant for that reason. There are lots of little parts to wash. (Angela Crimmins)

I have only ever heard good things about Dr. Browns. I wish my youngest would take a bottle, so I could pump and leave it for her, but she refuses! :/ Crazy girl!

I heard so many good things about Dr. Browns bottles! My youngest is past that stage, but if I ever have baby #3 I will keep Dr. Browns in mind :)
