Making Lego Dreams Come True with Legoland Florida

*Although we received two tickets for free to visit Legoland, All opinions are 100% mine.

My Lo is a 6 year old little boy obsessed with Legos. To be completely honest, obsessed is probably a term used very loosely he is enamored by legos. It never ceases to amaze me seeing this little 6 year old boy construct these elaborate Lego works of art in hours and sometimes minutes. So it was such a treat when we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Lego Land Florida. It was truly a dream come true for him. I have to say not only for him but for us as well. We were lucky enough to receive two tickets from the wonderful company to go check the park out for ourselves. I honestly didn't know what to expect. I knew there would be a lot of legos(a given) but I wasn't prepared for the fun time we all had as a family.

Legoland Florida is nestled in the sweet town of Winter Haven Florida. A town that once boosted the famous Cypress Gardens Amusement park. I remember going there as a little girl and was so sad to hear it closed. However, I quickly realized Lego Land not only took the park over but kept the beautiful gardens and glimpses of the famous water show alive and well for a new generation to enjoy.

You will find Winter Haven about 40 minutes South West of Orlando, Florida. It sounds a bit daunting as a tourist to make that drive but with the amount of hotels in the surrounding towns/cities this really isn't a big deal. You can easily get some great hotel ideas and suggestions off the Lego Site.

The park is easy to get to and there are signs in order to guide you straight to the park with no problems. Parking is easy and quick. You can purchase even pre purchase your parking ticket ahead of time for a discounted rate online.

The park is so whimsical ! You will find Legos everywhere!
As soon as we arrived we knew our son would be in heaven! Researching ahead of time we found out that you can trade mini figs with the park employees all you had to do was go up to any employee wearing a lego badge with mini figs on it. My son had a blast trading in the 3 mini figures he brought with him for 3 brand new ones!
Everywhere you go you will find amazing Lego creations.
You will also find Lego characters to meet and greet. Lo even traded his first minifigure with this guy over here!
 From Lego Carousel horses.....
To a Lego South Beach, the Legos not only impress the kids but the parents as well.
My favorite model was the Miami Inspired Little Havana! Complete with conga dancing Legos! Along with an Amazing model of the World Famous Miami Restaurant Versailles.

Complete with a walk up Coffee window!

All the rides are Lego Centered or "scaled to people Size" I even got to go on many with my kids. I felt like a kid again enjoying all these fun rides!

Yup that's me with my little guy on the mini roller coaster!

Not only did my Lego Fan have fun but the girls did as well. Between rides and face painting the fun was non stop.

We had a bit of rain hit us midway through the day but it didn't dampen the spirits (it was actually a welcoming cool down from the heat)
Once it was done we kept on riding all the fun rides and enjoying all the park had to offer.
We even got to see the fun water skiing show complete with life size legos. As you can see my kids were ecstatic!
My Lo even got a Lego License after taking a course at the Legoland driving school

This trip was truly a memory maker and even though we spent all day we didn't see half of the things we  would have liked to. There is so much to do there! We will definitely go back to complete our adventure and makes some new ones.Believe it or not there is even a water park there! It is made for families with kids 12 and under so don't stress if you have little ones, this park is for them!

Some helpful hints
  • The park is 40-45 minutes from Orland so if you are staying there plan your drive accordingly.
  • The hours will vary daily so make sure and check online to see what the schedule is.
  • Go online to buy tickets. Chances are they will be cheaper there than if you buy them at the door.
  • You can also make reservations for your hotel through their site and many of their hotels offer ticket packages as well!
  • You can take your stroller or rent one there for a minimal price.
  • Make sure your little one takes their minifigures with them so they can trade them with park employees. This is really a fun thing to do for them!
  • The price of food at the park is actually very reasonable. There is an Italian Buffet as well as a fried chicken place with family prices. Lego yearly pass holders get a discount for food, and many other perks. So if you  can this is a great buy!
  • This park is really geared towards kids 5-12 years old. Kids that are older will still enjoy it (I did!) but little ones will really get a kick out if it.
Like I said there was so much to get done at this park and we still had so many things we either wanted to do again or never got to do. We will definitely be back. One question I had from a friend that lives back in KS asking me if the 2 day car ride is worth it. In all honesty it is. If you have a little Lego fan this place is a must do on your list.  It really melted my heart as we were leaving the park that day after a fun filled adventure, my little guy turned to us and said "Thanks for making my dreams come true". That alone was priceless!

For some more views of the park check out this great promo video from Legoland Florida

thank you for your blog - I cannot pick one product because a a grammie who is new to this whole CD and natural product way that my daughter has chosen I have learned so much from your review blogs. Our little blessing is now 6 weeks and we are learning CD by trial and error lol. Right now I find the prefolds with a diaper cover the easiest for me(I am a NICU nurse and as a teen worked in a nursing home in the days before adult disposables- a whole different kind of cloth diaper!! I was quite adept at folding and using a spray wand from many years ago.) I am sure as time goes on I will have favorites too! Just wish our stash was larger but maybe I will one day win some cloth lol
