Intro & Dedication

This is my first time blogging and I will do my best to keep up with the blogs, I am busy (even thought at times my husband thinks I spend a little too much time on the computer-but I simply multitask...he just happens to walk in at the wrong time :/hee hee.
I will give you a little intro about myself so that you know who you are dealing with. I am a stay at home mom of 2 beautiful children a boy who is 2 and a girl who just turned 1. I have been married to the love of my life for almost 6 years. I taught Special Education for many years but motherhood made that job take a backseat in my life. I grew up in a typical Cuban /Mexican household with a strong love for both cultures. Always when asked as a child I always said I am Cuban, Mexican and American. I believe that has shaped who I am for many reasons. My father came from Cuban at 15 when Fidel came into power and brought his parents and sisters with him a few years later. My mother one of 15 grew up in Mexico as part of a musical group and met my father while performing here in the states. I grew up loving arroz con frijoles, tostadas and cafe con leche( rice beans, toasted Cuban bread and Coffee with milk) and eating mole and pozole(mexican soup) on the side..yet had a love for this country because it was where I was born. I grew up listening to stories about JoseMarti and Benito Juarez, Our Lady of Guadalupe and Our Lady of Charity alongside stories about the American Revolution and George Washington. You can say I have had a very multicultural life experience. As for my married life it has taught me many lessons. Marrying a man with a very strong cultural background very different yet very similar to my own has helped form my thoughts and emotions even more(seeing the coin from the other side).
Our home is full of love, love for God and family. Life is not all perfect and we have our ups and downs but I am thankful for the downs just as much as the ups because being a Catholic they help me grow closer to God and I believe help in my purification to heaven.
I want to dedicate this blog to a few people. For starters I want to dedicate this to my husband and children. They are the inspiration behind the perspiration. I love them more than anything in this world and it is because of them I do what I do. Finally to the Blessed Virgin Mary, as some of you will see in this site not only am I a Conservative, America Loving Mother but my religion is what means the most to me. Being brought up Catholic has been one of my greatest blessings. I love my faith and I love who it has made me. I hope that for those of you who have misconceptions of the Catholic faith, will be able to understand it a little more through this site and grow if not to love it but respect it and understand it for its tradition and beauty.
Enjoy the reading!

I'm glad you found my blog and I look forward to getting to know you! Thank you for the comment! It's nice to be supported in a culture that dislikes home education!

Thank you for stopping by my site and leaving a comment on a post I admit I was a bit nervous to post on. I don't usually post on such topics, but I went for it.
I've enjoyed browsing your new blog and have enjoyed what I have read. I love your layout too.
The picture of your son sleeping on the train table made me think of my little guy and his train table - which he has since out grown.
Welcome to blogging - it's a great community of very kind, loving women that will make you feel right at home.
