"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"

My Grandmother passed away on Monday. She had suffered from Alzheimer's for almost 12 years and these last few years had been in a vegetative state. God called her to his arms after receiving not only the sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church, but a Papal blessing which holds plenary indulgence. A woman who taught us all to love God and his beautiful blessed Mother and led an exemplary life, I am sure is enjoying of his glory along with My Grandfather and her two daughters who preceded her in death.
We recently found out that we are blessed enough to be expecting our 3 blessing. What was most amazing about this experience and what showed me God's hand in all of this is that today was her burial and as ironic as it could have been set forward because of my morning sickness I was unable to fly down to her funeral and burial, yet at the precise moment in which her funeral and burial mass where taking place I was at the doctors office and was able to hear my baby's heart for the first time. It struck an emotional chord in me because it showed me that life is like that. It's a cycle because of her I am here and because of her that baby's was here too. Yet her heart beats no more, not on this earth but hopefully from heaven where she will not only look after all of us but this precious little miracle that grows inside of me.
Thank you Mama Elia and thank you God for having given her to us.

oh I am sorry for your loss. My father has had alzheimer's for 12 years now too and it is awful to watch him suffer. I know though that he will be going straight to heaven when God calls him. He too taught me to love God above all other things and I am grateful for that.

Congratulations on the expected arrival of number 3. This is indeed a blessing. If it is a girl, you will have to name her after your grandmother.

What date are you due? I will add you and your little one to my prayer intentions.

God bless

I am so sorry to hear of your loss and that you weren't able to go to the funeral. But what a beautiful moment you experienced when you heard your baby's heart beat at the exact moment of your grandmother's funeral. What a gift!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! May God bless you with health and peace!
