Bella Santorum and Trisonomy 18

I happen to see this video on my friend from Totus Tuus Family & Catholic Homeschools facebook page and I have to say it touched me. I think Rick Santorum has been one of my favorite candidates thus far in the Republican presidential campaign race because of his background and respect of values this video just made me realize what an amazing family he has and further cement my support for him. His daughter Bella was born with Trisonomy 18 a genetic disorder that has a high mortality rate. This insight into his life really touched me. With the throw away society we live in,it's so beautiful to see this respect for life and showing how perfect everyone is no matter how imperfect we may find a situation is. God gives us the strength to get through things even though at the moment we may not feel we have that strength. Enjoy!

I don't know a lot about Rick Santorum, but this was lovely. I also find it interesting that this is the second candidate for major office that we've seen with a disabled child (I'm thinking of Sarah Palin of course, and the fact that it's estimated that 90% of babies diagnosed with Downs are aborted, and that she's one of the 10% who didn't). I can't help but think that these people are being called to led for a reason, and I hope that Rick Santorum and his family can escape what happened to the Palins. Not for political reasons--I am not very far down that road, yet--but for reasons of decency. And yet I feel like the world cannot abide these demonstrations of love, because they so indict the world.

Very lovely and moving! Rick Santorum seems like a very good and genuine person.
