How to Make Leg warmers and Baby Legs GIVEAWAY!!

A lot of you have made comments about my little bummy wearing those yummy little legwarmers. Since I always buy mine and my sewing skills aren't the best I went to my wonderful friend and neighbor over at That honey Do list, Toni, for help! She was up to the challenge in teaching me how to make them. So here goes, oh and stay tuned towards the end because I will be giving away a pair of Brand NEW organic Baby Legs,not made by me of course.lol

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to make these little guys,however, for an incredible sewing novice like me it was a little more time consuming than I expected. Considering we only had 4 of our 6 combined kids present(Princess Gigi and the Lo were out with grandpa and grandama) it actually went quicker than I expected. If we would have stopped talking long enough to focus we would have even been done quicker.lol

First we start off with a pair of knee high socks I got a 3 pack at Walmart for 5.67

Next we mark out the foot part that will get cut off.*and yes that is sidewalk chalk we used,that's how us mama's roll.

You can see the line where you need to cut(kind of like an ankle sock)

Next you cut :) (I really need a manicure!)

So the "foot end" ends up looking like this



What I didn't show was get what you cut off and cut the toe out so that it's almost a tube (the actual foot part) then cut down the middle so it almost looks like a square leaving the leg part to the side.)


Now sew the(foot) part together so to "tighten"the fit a bit"

You will have to turn it into a half and pin it into the sock tube(I just realized we didn't take a picture of that!)Stick the long section of the sock inside your newly created tube and pin it together.



Sew around what you pinned (this will be the inside seam of the top part of the legwarmer) I used a straight stitch first and then a zigzag, My machine was in shock because I hadn't ever turned the knob to a different stitch than strait.lol Make sure when stitching you stretch it as much as possible so that it goes on even
Here's a close up of the stitching as you can see it's terrible.lol But it works. I actually had to go over it twice because one of my sides came out.

And All done!!Finished product -Not Bad for my first time at the Rodeo :)
