Car Seat Safety Month...How safe is your little one?

When babies are first born picking the type of car seat is a given. You know to get an infant car seat and you rest assured putting them in it knowing that the are safe.

However, as our little ones grow the proper car seat rules become a little more blurry because there is so much information always being thrown at us(and state laws are so different across the board). Thankfully the great people at Chicco came up with this great car seat safety chart to inform parents what is the appropriate car seat their little one should be in.

Is your little one using the right car seat?

As parents we continuously watch what our kids eat and wear. It's crucial for us to keep kids safety in mind at all times. The right fitting car seat is the perfect place to start!

Car seat safety is so important! I do wish that car seat manufacturers would keep families with a bunch of car seats in one car in mind though. I have two in boosters and one in a forward-facing car seat. We have some of the narrowest ones available, and they still don't all fit in the back seat of our larger sedan. A minivan that "technically" seats eight is great, but if you can only fit four seats in there, what's the point? Little kids don't need two cupholders. They need to be safe.

That is so true!! I am a car seat away from transitioning over to a passenger van.lol We can't seem to fit 3 car seats in the back of my husbands explorer even if two are booster. :(

Love it! I see way too many photos on fb of children and babies not properly secured in their car seats! It drives me nuts! It is so important to have our children safely secured in their seat or it does no good in a accident no matter how nice of a car seat you own.

See this kind of bums me out that Chicco recommends starting to forward face at 2 years. Everything I've read suggests 4 years is the best time to start forward facing because that is when a child's spine is developed enough to take an impact facing forward. I really wanted to get the new Chicco seat too! Now I'm not sure what I'll do! Thank you for this info though. I love Chicco products.

I'm so glad that so many more people are getting the word out about car seat safety. Hopefully if enough people do it, everyone will listen! Thanks for the post!

I have Diono Radians for my children, so I am pretty confident of their safety. That's not to say there can't be user error that could contribute to an issue, but used properly, I'm 100% at ease!
