Taxation without Representation? History Repeating itself

On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into the Boston Harbor. The incident remains an iconic event of American history. The Tea Party was the culmination of a resistance movement throughout British America against the Tea Act , which had been passed by the British Parliament in 1773. Colonists objected to the Tea Act for a variety of reasons, especially because they believed that it violated their constitutional right to be taxed only their own elected representative.

The reasons behind this tea party might be in some parts a bit different from what is going on now but nevertheless here in the Good old U S of A aren't we heading towards a similar situation?
The fact that our taxes are being raised from everything from cigarettes to milk so quickly and for what?

  • To fund overseas abortions
  • To fund embryonic stem cell research
  • Fund special interest groups that go against the foundations of this country including planned parenthood and Acorn

Not only that! But spending trillion of dollars that will leave our children and grandchildren in debt for causes that are UNAMERICAN and Unethical!

This is not just a Political post but a Catholic God loving post. How does one feel knowing that money that we pay for taxes is going to some of these ridiculous causes..allowing the propagation of death and immorality in our Country. Millions of people will be getting together today to have their own tea parties and show the government that they are tired and done. We have been a great nation for so long and should be proud of everything that we have stood for but how long? When will enough be enough? I want my children to have the freedom and liberty I grew up with. I don't want them to say what was it like when? If you can't join in the tea parties, join in prayer! Because that is the only real thing that will make things right!

I agree with you. I don't understand why our taxes are being raised to fund barbaric reasearch and other unknown expensies. This country is no longer free, and I am fearful for the future of my children.
